Based on Enterprise Singapore's official EDGE Grant pages, checked 5–6 October 2026. Grant rules are new and may change, so always check the official pages linked below.
Quick summary
- Yes, EDGE covers digital marketing. Enterprise Singapore's EDGE Grant has a dedicated "Digital Marketing" activity for IMDA pre-approved solutions.
- How much: SMEs get up to 50%, max S$5,000 (qualifying cost capped at S$10,000). Non-SMEs get up to 30%, max S$3,000.
- Not 70%: the 70% rate is for internationalisation and sustainability activities, not local digital marketing.
- How it works: pick an IMDA pre-approved package, build it in the SMEs Go Digital Package Builder, apply yourself on the Business Grants Portal before you pay, then claim once the project is done.
- Watch out: home-based businesses are excluded, ad spend and GST are not covered, and your vendor cannot apply for you.
Before 30 September 2026, most Singapore SMEs funded digital marketing through the PSG. PSG has now closed, and its digital marketing support has moved into Enterprise Singapore's EDGE Grant. (Want the background? Read PSG, EDG and MRA merged into EDGE: what changed.) This guide focuses on one question: exactly what EDGE pays for digital marketing, and how to claim it, with worked examples, the step-by-step process and the conditions that catch people out.
Can I use the EDGE Grant for digital marketing?
Yes. Since 30 September 2026, Enterprise Singapore's EDGE Grant includes a "Digital Marketing" activity under its single-function digital solutions. It supports SMEs adopting an IMDA pre-approved digital marketing solution listed on SMEs Go Digital, at up to 50% of qualifying costs, capped at S$5,000.
Two agencies are involved, and it helps to keep them apart:
- IMDA pre-approves the vendor and the solution (the quality check), and lists the packages on its SMEs Go Digital platform and Package Builder.
- Enterprise Singapore runs the EDGE Grant. It decides your application and pays the grant through the Business Grants Portal (BGP).
So there is no "IMDA EDGE Grant". IMDA approves who you can buy from; Enterprise Singapore funds your purchase.
How much EDGE Grant can I get for digital marketing?
Under the EDGE Grant's Digital Marketing activity, SMEs can receive up to 50% of qualifying costs, capped at S$5,000, because the qualifying cost is capped at S$10,000. Non-SMEs can receive up to 30%, capped at S$3,000 (Enterprise Singapore, October 2026).
| Digital Marketing activity | SMEs | Non-SMEs |
|---|---|---|
| Support level | Up to 50% | Up to 30% |
| Maximum grant | S$5,000 | S$3,000 |
| Qualifying cost cap | S$10,000 | |
| Application outcome | About 1 week | |
| Project period | Up to 18 months | |
| Counts toward | The S$30,000 yearly cap for digital solutions, inside the S$100,000 yearly EDGE cap per company | |

Worked examples
These examples assume the full package price is qualifying cost. The real figure depends on the itemised package in the Package Builder, and GST is never covered.
| Package price (before GST) | SME: grant (up to) | SME: your net cost | Non-SME: grant (up to) |
|---|---|---|---|
| S$6,000 | S$3,000 | S$3,000 | S$1,800 |
| S$9,900 | S$4,950 | S$4,950 | S$2,970 |
| S$15,000 | S$5,000 (capped) | S$10,000 | S$3,000 (capped) |
Remember that EDGE is a reimbursement, not a discount. You pay your vendor the full amount first, then Enterprise Singapore pays the grant to you after your claim is approved.
What does the EDGE Digital Marketing grant cover?
Enterprise Singapore's Digital Marketing activity page lists the supported cost as software costs, capped at 12 months. GST and maintenance are not supported. The qualifying items for each pre-approved package are fixed in IMDA's Package Builder, so check the itemised package rather than assuming every service is covered.
- Usually inside the package: the itemised items your IMDA pre-approved vendor has registered for that solution, such as campaign set-up, content production and platform management, as listed in the Package Builder.
- Not covered: GST, maintenance, and anything outside the approved package.
- Ad spend: media spend paid to platforms (for example Meta, Google, Xiaohongshu or TikTok ad credits) is not listed as a supported cost. Budget for it separately.
- Not covered: anything you paid for, or started, before submitting your application.
How do I apply for the EDGE Grant for digital marketing?
Choose an IMDA pre-approved digital marketing solution, get a quotation, build the matching package in the SMEs Go Digital Package Builder, then submit the application yourself on the Business Grants Portal with Corppass, before you pay or start any work.
- Check eligibility. Your business is registered and operating in Singapore, has at least 30% local (Singapore Citizen or PR) shareholding, and is not home-based.
- Choose a pre-approved solution. Find the vendor and package on IMDA's SMEs Go Digital.
- Get the vendor quotation. Agree the scope, but don't sign, pay a deposit or let work start yet.
- Build the package in the Package Builder. It must match the quotation exactly. You then get a package reference ID through Corppass.
- Apply on the Business Grants Portal. Your own staff submit it, with the package reference ID and quotation. The outcome takes about 1 week.
- Accept the Letter of Offer, then start. Only now sign, pay and begin the project.
- Complete, pay in full and claim. Submit one final claim on BGP. Claims for single-function digital solutions open from 1 November 2026. Payout is about 14 working days by PayNow Corporate after approval, or up to 8 weeks by GIRO.
For the full process and the most common rejection reasons, see our step-by-step EDGE Grant application guide.
What conditions trip people up?
Most problems with the EDGE Digital Marketing grant come from timing and paperwork, not from the marketing itself. Check these before you sign anything.
| Condition | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| Apply before you pay | No signed order, deposit or work before you submit on BGP. Otherwise the project is not supported. |
| Not home-based | Home-based businesses cannot use the Digital Marketing activity. |
| Not applied before for this solution | The activity page says you must not have previously applied for grant support for the same solution. If you used a PSG grant before, check with Enterprise Singapore or your vendor first. |
| You apply, not your vendor | Third parties must not apply, claim or pay on your behalf. Your vendor can guide you, but your own staff submit. |
| Unrelated vendor | The vendor must have no relationship with your company, directors or shareholders. |
| Package must match the quote | The Package Builder package and the quotation must be identical. You cannot switch vendors after approval; you would have to cancel and reapply. |
| One final claim | Pay the vendor in full, keep invoices and proof of payment, and claim once at the end. |
Local or overseas marketing: which EDGE activity fits?
For marketing to customers in Singapore, use the Digital Marketing activity (up to 50%, max S$5,000). For marketing in overseas markets, the separate Overseas Marketing & Public Relations activity under internationalisation supports up to 70% for SMEs, including professional service costs, but it excludes domestic activity.
| Digital Marketing | Overseas Marketing & PR | |
|---|---|---|
| Target market | Singapore | Overseas only |
| SME support | Up to 50%, max S$5,000 | Up to 70% (within the S$100,000 yearly cap) |
| Non-SME support | Up to 30%, max S$3,000 | Up to 50% |
| Vendor | IMDA pre-approved solution | Vendor with a track record in the target market |
| Outcome / duration | About 1 week / up to 18 months | About 6 weeks / up to 12 months |
| Watch out | Not home-based; ad spend not covered | Content must be adapted for the target market, not just translated; travel and GST not covered |

Can I use EDGE for Xiaohongshu, TikTok or SEO marketing?
Yes, if the work is part of an IMDA pre-approved digital marketing solution and you meet the EDGE conditions. The grant does not depend on the platform; it depends on the pre-approved package you adopt. Some pre-approved solutions focus on Chinese-language platforms, which suit Singapore businesses targeting Chinese-speaking customers and visitors:
- Xiaohongshu (RedNote): account set-up, notes and KOC content that help customers find you when they search on the app. Popular with F&B, beauty, retail and education businesses.
- TikTok: short videos and TikTok LIVE content for brand awareness and selling.
- SEO: helping your website rank on Google for the searches your customers make.
Whatever the platform, the same rules apply: the package must be pre-approved, you apply before paying, and media spend is budgeted separately.
