Summary
- Most setup errors are mismatches: your name, address, company details or bank account don't match your NRIC, ACRA BizFile or bank statement exactly.
- Verification: corporate sellers need the full ACRA BizFile plus a representative's ID. Individual sellers verify with Singpass or a clear photo of their NRIC.
- Payouts: link a bank account whose holder name matches your Shop Owner Name. Corporate sellers need a business account in the company name.
- Before your first order: add a complete pickup and warehouse address and decide on pickup or drop-off.
- Listings: clean images, all required attributes, no exaggerated claims, and category approval for restricted products.
How do I use TikTok Seller Center in Singapore? Sign up on TikTok Shop Seller Center Singapore, choose individual or corporate, and verify with Singpass or your NRIC (individuals) or your ACRA BizFile and a representative's ID (companies). Then add your shop name, a warehouse or pickup address and your bank account, and list your products. Most setup problems come from details that don't match your documents exactly, so check everything before you submit.
Setting up TikTok Shop is simple on paper. In practice, many Singapore sellers get stuck halfway: a document is rejected, the bank account won't link, or the first product fails review. This guide covers the 7 setup errors we see most often, what each one looks like, why it happens and how to fix it. If you haven't started yet, follow our beginner's guide to setting up TikTok Shop Seller Center first, then come back here if something goes wrong.
Quick setup checklist before you submit
Run through this list once before you press submit. It prevents most of the errors below.
I chose the right seller type: corporate if I have an ACRA-registered business, individual if I'm a Singapore citizen or PR without one.
I have the complete ACRA BizFile (all pages) and my representative's ID, or I'm ready to verify with Singpass.
My NRIC photos are the physical card, both sides, in colour, with all corners visible and no filters.
The name on my account matches my NRIC or the legal representative on my ACRA record.
My address is typed exactly as on my ID (for example "Block", not "Blk").
My shop name is 40 characters or fewer, with no other brands, platform names or contact details.
My bank account name matches my Shop Owner Name, and I have the first full page of my bank statement.
I've added a complete pickup and warehouse address and chosen pickup or drop-off.
My first products have clear images, all required attributes and no restricted or prohibited items.
Error 1: Business verification rejected (ACRA BizFile issues)
What you see: Your corporate application is rejected, or TikTok asks you to submit supplementary documents before it gives a result.
Why it happens: Corporate sellers must verify both the company and the company's representative. Rejections usually come from an incomplete BizFile, a representative who is not on the ACRA record, or details that don't match what you typed in the form.
How to fix it:
- Pick the right seller type first. If your business is registered with ACRA (including a sole proprietorship), register as a corporate seller. Individual seller accounts are for Singapore citizens and PRs holding an NRIC.
- Submit the full ACRA BizFile. Upload every page of your company's complete BizFile, not just the first page. It must be valid at the time you register.
- Use the right person's ID. Add the government-issued ID (or Singpass, if eligible) of your legal representative, a company director or a person with significant control (PSC). Their name must match the name on your TikTok Shop account.
- Match your ACRA record exactly. Company name, business scope and validity period in your application should match what is on the BizFile.
- Follow the upload format. TikTok's Singapore guidelines ask for clear colour images in PNG or JPG, with multi-page documents combined into one file. Avoid special characters in file names.
| Individual seller | Corporate seller | |
|---|---|---|
| Who | Singapore citizens and PRs with an NRIC, aged 18+ | Businesses registered with ACRA, including sole proprietorships |
| Verify with | Singpass, or NRIC (both sides) plus a selfie holding it | Complete ACRA BizFile plus ID of legal rep, director or PSC |
| Name must match | NRIC name = TikTok Shop account name | Legal rep on ACRA record = TikTok Shop account name |
| Bank account | In your own name, matching your NRIC | Business account in the company name on ACRA |
| Shops allowed | Check in your Seller Center | Up to 5 per verified business entity |

Planning to sell other brands? Individual sellers may be blocked from listing certain brands. To list them you need a corporate account plus Brand Authorisation documents from the brand owner.
Error 2: "Document Unreadable" or "Document Not Qualified" on your ID
What you see: Your NRIC upload or selfie is rejected with a reason such as Document Unreadable or Document Not Qualified.
Why it happens: The photo is not clear enough, or the document type is not accepted. For individual sellers in Singapore, TikTok's registration FAQ lists digital IDs, screenshots, black-and-white images, handwritten copies, photos or scans of copies, passports and visit passes as not allowed.
How to fix it:
- Use Singpass if you can. Individual sellers can verify via Singpass instead of uploading photos, which avoids most image problems.
- Photograph the physical NRIC, both sides. Front and back, all four corners in the frame, every detail readable, nothing covered.
- Keep it original. No filters, edits or screenshots. Shoot in good light against a plain, single-coloured background, in colour.
- Retake the selfie properly. Hold the front of your NRIC next to your face. No hats or sunglasses, and don't edit the photo. The ID must be undamaged.
- Check the name. The name on your NRIC must match the name you used to register your TikTok Shop account.
Error 3: Your address doesn't match your ID
What you see: Your application is flagged because the address you entered doesn't match your ID, or your proof of address is rejected.
Why it happens: TikTok expects the address you type to be an exact match of the address on your ID. Small differences, like "Blk" instead of "Block", can be enough to cause a mismatch.
How to fix it:
- Copy your address exactly as it appears on your ID. TikTok's own example: if your ID says "Block 123", don't shorten it to "Blk 123".
- Fill in the full seller profile. Country, full address and postal code, in English, Malay, Chinese or Tamil.
- If you are asked for proof of address, use a utility bill, a recent letter from a government agency, or a bank or credit card statement.
- Check the four details. A valid proof of address shows the issuing organisation, your name, your address and an issue or statement date within the last 3 months.
Error 4: Shop name rejected
What you see: Your shop name is not accepted, or you are asked to change it during review.
Why it happens: TikTok Shop has strict shop name rules and can reject names at its discretion. The common problems are brand names you don't own, platform names, generic words and special characters.
How to fix it:
- Keep it to 40 characters or fewer and make it represent your actual business.
- Don't use other brands or platforms. No brand names without the owner's written authorisation, and no "TikTok", Shopee, Lazada or other platform names without permission.
- Avoid banned words. "Official" is only for authorised brands that have submitted authorisation. "Flagship" and "Authorized" are not allowed. Skip comparisons like "the best" or "vs".
- No contact details or links, such as phone numbers, social handles, "http" or ".com".
- Not too generic, not random. Names like "Shop" or "Store" on their own, pure numbers, random strings and special characters are rejected. It also can't copy another seller's shop name.
Error 5: Bank account name doesn't match
What you see: You can't link your settlement account, or your bank details are rejected, so you can't receive payouts.
Why it happens: The bank account holder name must match exactly. For corporate sellers, TikTok expects a business bank account in the company's name. For individual sellers, the account name must match your NRIC.
How to fix it:
- Corporate sellers: link a corporate or business bank account. The account name must match your company name as it appears on your ACRA registration. A director's personal account won't do.
- Individual sellers: link an account in your own name, matching the NRIC you registered with.
- Upload the right statement page. TikTok asks for the first full page of your bank statement, with the bank name and account number clearly and correctly shown.
- Link it in the right place. In Seller Center go to My Account > Account Settings > Bank Accounts and click Link your Settlement Account. You can add up to 5 bank accounts, and bank accounts are currently the only payout method.
- Set up withdrawals. Create your withdrawal password and check your withdrawal settings under Finance > Withdrawals, so money moves from your seller balance to your bank.
Error 6: Warehouse, pickup address or shipping not set up properly
What you see: Orders get stuck at "To ship", the courier doesn't turn up, or you can't arrange shipment the way you expected.
Why it happens: Your pickup and warehouse address is incomplete, or the collection method you chose doesn't match how you actually hand over parcels. In Singapore, if you choose Pickup you can't drop off that parcel, and if you choose Drop-off you can't request a pickup.
How to fix it:
- Add a complete pickup and warehouse address. Include the full geographic address with every detail. Use the place where your stock actually is.
- Decide pickup or drop-off before your first order. Pick the method that fits your routine, then stick to it for each parcel.
- Know the flow. When an order moves from "To ship" to "Awaiting shipment", pack it, click Arrange shipment, choose your collection method and attach the shipping label.
- Check your delivery partners. TikTok's Singapore Shipping Management guide lists J&T Express, SingPost and Qxpress, with different pickup and drop-off options. Options can change, so check the current list in your Seller Center.
- Enter accurate package weight and dimensions on every product, as TikTok's listing guidelines require. Wrong numbers can cause shipping fee and handover problems.
Error 7: Product listing rejected or category locked
What you see: Your product fails review, gets taken down, or you can't select a category at all.
Why it happens: Most listing rejections come from poor images, missing required attributes, exaggerated claims or a category that needs approval first. Some categories are restricted or invite-only in Singapore.
How to fix it:
- Fix your images. At least 600 x 600 pixels, in colour, sharp, up to 9 square images. The main image should show the front of the whole product on a solid background (white is recommended), filling at least 60% of the frame.
- Fill in every required attribute. Mandatory attributes appear when you choose the category in Seller Center. Make sure title, images, attributes and description all describe the same product.
- Remove risky claims. No "No.1", "the best" or "the only" unless you can prove it, no miracle or medical claims, no before-and-after images for things like slimming or acne products, and no price comparisons with other sites.
- Get category approval first. Restricted categories need documents before you can sell. Examples: beauty and personal care (including a valid HSA cosmetic product notification), home appliances and electronics, home improvement, and jewellery or watches with gems or precious metals.
- Check invite-only categories. Some pet supplies, luxury items, health products, select automotive parts and medical devices need documents submitted under My Account > Account Settings > Qualification Center.
- Appeal if it was a mistake. If you believe a product was blocked or removed in error, raise a ticket or appeal through Seller Center.
Not sure if your product is allowed at all? Read TikTok Shop's Restricted and Unsupported Products Guidelines (Singapore) before you list.
After setup: why your shop has order and listing limits
Not an error, but it confuses many new sellers. Every new Singapore shop starts in the New Shop Adjustment Period, with temporary daily order and listing limits. They go up automatically as your shop performs well, and you can see your current tier from the Shop Adjustment Program widget in Seller Center.
| Tier | Daily orders | Products | Key criteria to reach it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Beginner | Up to 100 | Up to 1,000 | Automatic after shop onboarding |
| Standard | Up to 200 | Up to 2,000 | 10+ live listings, pass the New Seller Quiz, Store Rating 2.5+ |
| Premium | Up to 300 | Up to 3,000 | 30+ days, 100+ delivered orders, 10+ unique buyers, Store Rating 3.0+ |
| Pro | No limit under this program | No limit under this program | 30+ days, 200+ delivered orders, 20+ unique buyers, Store Rating 3.5+ |
Key point: each tier also has a compliance violations limit, so a clean shop with complete, accurate listings moves up faster. You'll find the New Seller Quiz under Account Health > Learning Center in Seller Center.

How do I use TikTok Seller Center in Singapore?
Sign up on TikTok Shop Seller Center Singapore with your email, phone number or TikTok account. Choose individual (Singapore citizen or PR with an NRIC) or corporate (ACRA-registered business), verify with Singpass or your NRIC, or your ACRA BizFile plus your representative's ID. Then add your shop name, warehouse or pickup address and bank account, and list your products. Our step-by-step setup guide walks through each screen.
Should I register as an individual or corporate seller?
If your business is registered with ACRA, including a sole proprietorship, register as a corporate seller. Individual seller accounts are for Singapore citizens and PRs with an NRIC who are not selling through a registered business. Corporate accounts are also needed if you want to list certain brands with Brand Authorisation.
Why was my NRIC rejected by TikTok Shop?
Usually because the photo is unclear or the document type is not accepted. Use the physical NRIC (front and back), in colour, with all corners visible and no filters or screenshots. Passports, digital IDs and photos of copies are not accepted for individual sellers. Verifying with Singpass avoids most of these issues.
Can my bank account be in a different name from my TikTok Shop?
No. The bank account holder name should match the Shop Owner Name on your TikTok Shop account exactly. Corporate sellers need a business bank account in the company name shown on ACRA, and individual sellers need an account in the name on their NRIC.
Why can I only receive 100 orders a day?
New shops start in TikTok Shop's Shop Adjustment Period. At the Beginner tier you can receive up to 100 orders a day and list up to 1,000 products. Limits rise automatically as your shop meets each tier's criteria, such as live listings, the New Seller Quiz, Store Rating and delivered orders. Check your tier in Seller Center.
Can one company open more than one TikTok Shop in Singapore?
Yes. TikTok Shop's Singapore registration guidelines allow one verified business entity to register up to five seller accounts.
General information based on official TikTok Shop Singapore pages (Seller Center and TikTok Shop Academy) as checked in November 2026. Requirements, menus and limits change often, so always check your own Seller Center before you submit.
